RADCLIFFE boss Lee Fowler has begun building his squad for next season with two new additions.

The Boro manager, appointed in February, has brought in defender Curtis Obeng and striker Andy Owens as he looks to mount a challenge at the sharp end of the NPL Premier Division.

Obeng arrives at the Neuven Stadium having last been with Nuneaton Borough where he played under Fowler.

The 31-year-old from Stretford also played in the same Wrexham side as the Boro boss, Obeng having spent three years at the Racecourse Ground after coming through the ranks at Manchester City.

They linked up again during the defender’s brief loan spell at Fleetwood in 2012, one of several temporary stints he had away from Swansea. 

Liverpudlian frontman Owens joins from Airbus UK in the Welsh Premier League where he scored eight goals in 23 appearances last season. 

The 30-year-old spent time with Liverpool and Stoke as a youngster before finding success with Southport and Telford.

Owens has also played for Marine, Altrincham, Skelmersdale United and Connah’s Quay Nomads among others.

The club have also announced that Louis White has committed his future to the club for next season. 

One player confirmed to be moving on is goalkeeper Ollie Martin who has joined FC United.

Boro finished 16th in the table after promotion, the season cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.
