BURY’S new phoenix club have been forced to postpone two fundraising events.
Bury AFC, who have applied for a spot in the North West Counties League as the club’s future is determined, were building up to a screening of Mike Bassett: England Manager with star Ricky Tomlinson on Friday April 3.
That has been put back however along with the legends match against Chester on Friday, May 15.
“We thank everyone who has bought tickets and supported these events, these will be rescheduled as soon as possible,” a statement read.
“As these events are fundraisers and processing refunds would place costs on our organisation, we would ask everyone who has purchased a ticket to bear with us and consider attending the rearranged dates once announced rather than requesting a refund at this stage.
“We will of course issue refunds to those who cannot make the rescheduled date once announced.
“Our financial position is fortunately not detrimentally affected by current events. We are well on our way to hitting our targets and no monies raised to date have been put at risk.”
Gatherings that have been held at pubs close to Gigg Lane have also been postponed.
