THE build-up for the season opener against MK Dons starts here for Chris Casper, as he prepares his side for their final dress rehearsal against Barnsley.

The Shakers boss is likely to play a full-strength side, and is also ready to hand striker Andy Bishop at least a cameo appearance from the bench.

Bishop has been out with a knee injury since May, but has returned to full training and will play some part in the game.

"We hope Andy will get 20 minutes," said Casper. "It would be wrong of me to suggest that at this stage of the season, the team would not be somewhere near what we will pay against MK Dons, but we might make one or two changes.

"It is important that we get our game heads on. On Saturday, the preparation, the pre-match and the tactics will be right."

Barnsley are unlikely to name out-of-favour former Gigg Lane favourite Dwayne Mattis in their line-up.

Bury could resurrect their interest in Chester City striker Simon Yeo after his club were told to transfer-list some of their squad my the Football League after breaching salary cap regulations.

Chester had previously issued a hands-off warning to the Shakers, who had at least one cash bid turned down.

But director of football Keith Alexander, who worked with the striker at Lincoln and Peterborough, said he would continue to monitor the 33-year-old's progress.
