BURY have landed a home draw against Fleetwood Town in the third round of the Checkatrade Trophy.
The League One rivals were involved in a five-goal thriller at Highbury earlier in the season, when Jermaine Beckford missed a late penalty as the home side hung on for all three points.
Current Shakers manager Chris Lucketti spent three years at Fleetwood Town as assistant to boss Graham Alexander, when the pair guided the Fylde coast club to League Two promotion via the play-offs. And he briefly stayed on as caretaker manager, leading them to three wins and a draw in his five games in charge.
Fleetwood, now managed by Uwe Rosler, are currently 11th in League One, 10 points better off than second-bottom Bury.
The third-round ties will be played in the week beginning Monday, January 8.
Full Checkatrade Trophy third-round draw: Northern section – Oldham v Leicester City U21s, Rochdale v Lincoln, Bury v Fleetwood, Shrewsbury v Blackpool; southern section – Yeovil v Forest Green, Chelsea U21s v Portsmouth, Charlton v Oxford, Luton v Peterborough.
