LEE Clark has called for his side to keep fighting ahead of a crunch clash with fellow strugglers Plymouth Argyle this weekend.
The Shakers have fallen into the League One relegation zone after 3-2 defeats at Rotherham and Fleetwood this week.
Those losses extended a miserable run of results that has seen the club pick up just one point in six games since their opening-day victory over Walsall.
September’s hectic schedule of eight games in 29 days continues on Saturday with the visit of Plymouth, who are 23rd in the table, level on four points with Bury.
“You (have to) fight for each other,” Clark said. “It’s easy to point fingers at one another but we all win together and we all lose together.
“You see the real men now. You see people who are sticking their chest out and ready to fight.
“I think the dressing room is full of good characters, people who really care and are hurting. We are trying to find solutions; we can’t work any harder on the training pitch.”
While Clark is under pressure to turn results around quickly, out-of-favour midfielder Neil Danns has given the Geordie his backing on Twitter.
The 34-year-old, who won promotion from League Two while on loan at Blackpool last season, has not been given a squad number and is training away from the first team, but claims he is desperate to force his way back into Clark’s plans.
Danns tweeted after the Fleetwood defeat: “Heard the boys give it a good go. Keep the faith the tide always changes.
“I went away, got fit, won promotion and wanted to come back fit to show you guys (Bury supporters) the real me in my best position and prove myself to the fans like I did at Blackpool.
“I’m fit and desperate to get the Shakers shirt on. I think he (Lee Clark) needs time but I definitely want to be part of the cause.”
