BURY could continue to cash-in on David Nugent - even after his £6million move from Preston to Portsmouth this week.

The striker earned his former club around £1.2m because of a 20 per cent sell-on fee inserted into his contract when he left Gigg Lane in January, 2005.

The money will be paid in four instalments, one for each year of his contract at Fratton Park, but it might not end there for the Shakers.

The club are understood to have further incentive clauses in the player's contract which ensure future payments, depending on international and Premiership appearances, future sell-on fees and promotions.

Chris Casper is unlikely to be able to utilise any of the initial Nugent windfall as the club have pledged to first clear a £700,000 mortgage on Gigg Lane.

The Bury boss has, however, been promised a manoeuvrable budget' which could pave the way for a move for Chester City striker Simon Yeo or Peterborough midfielder Richard Butcher.

The Shakers take on Everton at home tomorrow, with David Moyes looking to name a strongest available line-up. New £4m midfielder Phil Jagielka could make his debut, but Andy Johnson, Tim Howard and Tim Cahill are all either unavailable or injured.

Shakers striker Andy Bishop will miss a week's training with tendonitis, giving Casper a chance to run the rule once more over trialist striker Drewe Broughton, who was released by Boston United at the end of last season.
