THE brilliance of Dave Hardman could not prevent the Oaks from losing 5-3 to the Buchannans in the Ramsbottom and District Elite Darts League.

The Hamers strutted into the Legion and played some great darts to beat a rejuvenated Legion side 5-3. The talking point was Joe Mitchel turning out for the Legion, after his big money transfer from the Buchannan, that went through with one hour to spare.

The Rose and Crown Haslingden carried on their whirlwind start to the season obliterating the Masons 6-2. Dean Shireden hitting the usual 180.

In the match of the night, the Greymare played title contenders, the Bridge. In the first game, Mark Aspinal hit four 140s and a 180 and still lost to the mighty Ken Bramall 2-1 with Ken smashing a 16 dart leg. The match was going the Greys way when up stepped Steve Hollingrake.

For the Station, captain Bell put on his secret weapon, Martin Peter Pilkinton. In a classic game, Hollingrake won 2-1, hitting a 114 checkout. Pilkington hitting a 102 finish. The Grey eventually beat the Station 6-2.
