A SUPERB 30-yard free-kick from Ryan Williams and late strike from substitute Tony Diagne condemned Bury to their sixth League Two game without a win.
The Shrimps’ dead-ball specialist gave Brian Jensen no chance, curling his crisply-struck 63nd-minute opener past the Shakers keeper’s despairing dive.
And Diagne sealed all three points for the promotion hopefuls with a low shot into the bottom corner in the fourth minute of injury time.
It was another cruel defeat for a Bury side who had enjoyed the majority of possession and chances before going behind.
Andy Procter went closest in the first half with a header that Barry Roche did well to turn behind, while the Shrimps stopper was again on hand to palm a Tommy Miller strike around the post after the break.
Tom Soares also tested Roche with two decent efforts – one in each half.
But Bury, who started with just one man up front, could not find another gear as they failed to put the high-flying visitors under any serious pressure in the closing stages and were hit on the break.
The result sees the Shakers slump to 21st in the table – just two places and one point above the Football League trapdoor.
