LOCAL man John Williamson has taken a giant step up the career ladder with national conversion specialist, PJ Livesey.

The company has marked a period of significant growth by promoting John, who was previously managing director in the north. He now becomes group construction director and responsible for all of the company's construction activities across the UK.

John, a father-of-two who lives in Bury, has spent almost the whole of his career in construction with PJ Livesey. He started as a joiner in 1989 before being promoted to finishing foreman, general foreman, site manager, general manager and regional managing director.

Explaining why he has stayed with the company, he said: "Quite simply, it comes down to quality. The contractors and builders who can match the pedigree of the PJ Livesey brand, the standard of craftsmanship and the passion and professionalism of the team are few and far between."

The firm is the biggest single developer of listed buildings anywhere in the UK.
