A BURY-based solicitor has scooped a top prize in an awards competition to celebrate successful Asian entrepreneurs.
Mr Asif Din, a partner in Sovereign Solicitors located in Knowsley Street, won an entrepreneur excellence award in the Lloyds TSB Jewel Awards northern final in Manchester.
The event recognised the achievement of those in the Asian community involved in the business, retail, professional or public services.
Asif won the award for taking the risk to set up his own business and making it a success. He and his partners Shameem Ali and Ismail Patel established the company which specialises in personal injury, conveyancing and immigration law.
Sovereign, which also has offices in Rochdale and Bradford, strives to innovate and break away from the traditional set up of a legal practice. They have done this by not having any reception and secretarial staff, employing instead qualified paralegals to do everything from meeting and greeting clients and working on their cases with cutting edge IT and case management software.
