ONE of the oldest solicitors firms in Bury is being given a 21st century facelift.

As well as the launch of a comprehensive new website, and a series of informative seminars, Woodcocks will be introducing new office-front signage and marketing material at its offices. The company is based in Manchester Road, Bury, and also operates offices in Ramsbottom, Haslingden, Rawtenstall and Bacup.

Practice manager Tricia Pilkington said: "We have put a lot of thought into improving our communication with our customers. That's why we looked at the website and new literature and while we were going through this process, decided to tweak the brand image too.

"We are proud of our history, heritage and reputation and we felt it was important our image reflected that too. We know that it's vital to get those first impressions right."

The revised brand sees Woodcock and Sons become simply Woodcocks, but the links with the past are underscored by the slogan Solicitors Since 1791'.

"We've been around so long that people already refer to us as Woodcocks, so I don't think it will take too long for people to get used to the change."

The new look was officially launched with a champagne reception at the Red Hall, Bury, when staff and clients were given a preview of what is destined to become a familiar look on local high streets.

Later this year, Woodcocks will be holding a series of seminars looking at various aspects of the law.

Established in 1791 Woodcocks is one of the oldest established family firms of solicitors in the country.
