BUSINESSES in Bury are being encouraged to recycle their waste, thanks to a new recycling service provided by Greenhope Recycling and Waste Services.
The service, which is being supported by WRAP's (Waste & Resources Action Programme) SME Recycling Programme, aims to make it easier for small and medium-sized firms in Bury to recycle by providing convenient and cost effective local services.
Greenhope Recycling will be providing hospitality businesses in the North West with a recycling collection service for glass, diverting it from being sent to landfill. Companies in the Bury area are being provided with wheeled bins to collect glass bottles.
Collections will be made weekly or fortnightly to maximise the amount of recyclable materials collected.
Joanne Hope, owner of Greenhope Recycling, says: "The aim of the service is for businesses in Bury to see how simple and cost effective it is to recycle and reduce the amount of glass waste being sent to landfill."
