BURY businesswoman Homera Gee is seeing Red!

For that's the name of her new ladies designer wear boutique which has just opened its doors in the town's Bolton Street.

Homera has swapped cars for clothes, deciding to launch her own retail store after working in sales and marketing for Volvo.

"It's something I've wanted to do for around 20 years," she said. "Last November, Volvo had a reshuffle and offered me redundancy and I decided to take it and go for it in terms of setting up my own business."

Homera is proud that the Red Boutique has its own distinct stock which sets it apart from other women's clothes shops. "I always wanted to get away from the mainstream shops. We've got labels like Arrogant Cat and the majority of the labels aren't available anywhere else in Bury and are exclusive to us."

She and her husband spent every single weekend for the past five months designing and decorating the premises which previously served as a fireplace shop.

And Homera was delighted when the Mayoress of Bury, Mrs Rubina Chaudhry, cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the Red Boutique, which also stocks jewellery, handbags and footwear.
