BURYSAFE is celebrating its first birthday this week.
Members of the multi-agency partnership will be in Market Square in Bury town centre today and tomorrow showing the community how they have spent the past 12 months tackling crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour throughout the borough.
Around the theme You said, we did, the anniversary event will be attended by representatives from the probation service, police, fire service, road safety and council litter teams. The newly formed area tasking teams will also be represented and will be telling the community how they can get involved by attending local area board meetings and bringing issues to their attention.
BurySafe has been involved in community clean-ups, CCTV installations, combating mini-motorised scooter menaces and conducting a number of fire and road safety displays over the past year.
Councillor Tony Isherwood, of the safe, strong, confident communities committee, said: "BurySafe has worked extremely hard to tackle issues which affect the everyday lives. If you want to see how effective the partnership has been go along to the Market Square between 9.30am and 3.30pm."
