Two children are in hospital following a collision involving a mini quad bike.
Police were called to Redbank playing fields, Radcliffe, following reports of a collision at around 9.10pm last Friday.
Two girls, aged three and five, were injured after they lost control of a mini quad bike they were riding in the park.
The five-year-old suffered a facial injury but is currently stable in hospital. The three-year-old suffered a head injury and remains in hospital in a serious, but not life-threatening condition.
Inquiries are continuing.
Detective Sergeant Louise Bentley, of Bury Public Protection Investigation Unit, said: “Two young children are now in hospital after they were recklessly allowed to ride a mini quad bike, "It happened on public playing fields, during the evening so I am confident that some people would have been around at the time to witness this.
“Can I ask that anyone with information gets in touch with us.”
