EIGHT men have appeared in court after police carried out a series of drugs raids.

A total of 80 officers executed search warrants on 15 homes in East Bury on June 13 and arrested 10 people.

Police subsequently charged eight of the men who appeared before Bury magistrates the following day.

David Billington, aged 38, of Windermere Drive, admitted two counts of supplying class A drugs. Joseph Hindley, aged 28, of Bronte Avenue, admitted two counts of supplying class A drugs. Sajid Ali, aged 31, of Greywood Avenue, admitted six counts of supplying class A drugs. All three were remanded in custody and are due to be sentenced at Bolton Crown Court next Thursday.

Hassan Hussain, aged 22, of South Bank Street, is charged with 14 counts of supplying class A drugs. Ali Rauf, aged 31, of Heywood Street, is charged with 16 counts of supplying class A drugs. Jordan Young, aged 19, of Bronte Avenue, is charged with three counts of supplying class A drugs.

Uwais Ali, aged 18, of Somerset Drive, is charged with two counts of supplying class A drugs. Ishan Hayat, aged 18, of East Street, is charged with six counts of supplying class A drugs.

All five men were remanded in custody and did not enter a plea. They are due to appear before Bury magistrates today.

Two other men, aged 25 and 26, have been bailed until a date in September pending further inquiries.
