A JUNIOR football team is helping to find the dirtiest side in Britain.
But the competition is not about dangerous tackles and red cards, but the cleanliness of the team kit. Laundry company Surcare has signed up Bury side Brandlesholme Warriors under-9s to be the stars of its photo-shoot.
The company wants to track down the dirtiest under-11s team in football so it can provide them with a sparkling d new strip. The Middleton-company wants to hear from clubs with the grubbiest, and most mud-stained, worn-out kit.
The prize will also include a year's supply of Surcare products to keep the side looking their best on the pitch.
Nominations can be made by submitting a photo of the team's existing strip and reasons why their team deserves the prize.
David Briscoe, for Surcare, said: "Many local teams have started the season with new tactics but an old, worn out kit "We also want to acknowledge the unsung heroes, the mums, grannies and aunties who religiously clean the kits every week."
To enter the competition, entries and images should be sent to surcarefootball@mcbride.co.uk. The closing date is November 6.
