I must take issue with Councillor Bibby, the Conservative Group Leader.
I agree that the controlling group (Labour) has the responsibility to produce a budget but, if he is serious in his concerns, surely Cllr Bibby also has a responsibility to say how he would do things differently.
Obviously, the time to do this is when the budget is being set but neither he nor any member of his group came up with alternatives - which is surely the role of a senior opposition.
The people of Bury have a right to know how his group would do things better.
I can only suppose that, like his national leader, he wants to be all things to all people but steadfast in refusing to say exactly what he would do.
KEITH ROTHWELL Labour Councillor, Moorside Ward
