I THOUGHT all zebra crossings, by law, had to have zig zag markings on the road when approaching them.

The zebra crossing on Silver Street - near Broad Street - has had its zig zag lines painted over.

This means that motorists cannot see anyone waiting to cross because vehicles are parked in the bays next to the crossing. Because of this, anyone trying to cross via the zebra crossing is taking their life into their own hands.

Will the council wait until some one is killed, or injured, on the crossing before they decide that a life is more valuable than the revenue from four parking bays?
