FAMILIES who have lost a baby through stillbirth or shortly after birth are being invited to a special service of remembrance at Fairfield Hospital, Bury, on June 14 at 7pm.

The Baby Memorial Service will offer families a chance to reflect on their loss.

The Rev John Hall, chaplaincy co-ordinator at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said: “Within society today, stillbirth and neo-natal deaths are certainly still very much sensitive subjects.

“The remembrance service will offer families a chance to come together and remember their babies in a sympathetic and understanding environment. Everyone is welcome to attend and it will be a time to pause and reflect whilst remembering their loss. Many people who have attended previous services have certainly felt that they have had a sense of assuagement from the event.”
