AN entrepreneur from Radcliffe has been chosen to attend a prestigious Women of the Year lunch and awards ceremony in London later this month.

Nadine Lewis will rub shoulders with a guest list of more than 450 "extraordinary individuals" at the event on October 16.

The invitation recognises her achievements in establishing the business, IdentiKids Ltd, which she and husband David launched from their home in Stand Lane, Radcliffe, four years ago.

The firm, which provides identification tagging products, now has an annual turnover of more than £500,000 and employs four people at its headquarters at Brenton Business Complex in Bond Street, Bury.

Individuals invited to the Women of the Year bash are nominated by a council of more than 40 women and are chosen because of their achievements in their particular field.

Nadine came up with a method of tagging youngsters when she was separated from her own son during a visit to the busy Trafford Centre. Her IdentiKids company provides personal ID solutions for vulnerable groups, such as children, the elderly and those with allergies, medical or age-related conditions. The range includes an innovative car seat ID card, identifying wristbands and electronic anti-wander monitors and ID merchandise for clothing.

Two years ago the IdentiKids range became available on the high street when the Boots and Mothercare chains took the decision to stock them.

In July last year Nadine's innovation and corporate acumen was recognised when she won the North West Orange award for bright business at the regional finals of the National Business Awards in Manchester.
