IT would appear that the destruction of the centre of Bury is to go ahead, whether ordinary people like it or not.
I refer to old buildings on The Rock which reflect Bury's proud history. These will be replaced by mundane, characterless buildings. I believe there will be a Debenham's which originated in London. If people want these kind of large shops they can travel to the capital and see them there.
As usual, the council has given in to big business and allowed themselves to be dictated to. These greedy people do not care about destroying heritage, whether it be old buildings of interest or green fields, as long as their savings are healthy.
