I WRITE in support of Lauren from Ramsbottom (It's not always teenagers who are anti-social', Bury Times, October 5) on the topic of teenagers being labelled anti-social.

Even the police take this attitude and see teenagers and blame them first and foremost.

Recently we had an incident where a middle-aged man started verbally abusing my son and his friends.

I am proud to say they didn't retaliate. This was witnessed by ourselves and others, but because they were 14 and 15-year-olds, the police put the blame straight at their door, regardless of the abuse that was being hurled at them by this man.

People need to look at adults as well as teenagers.

Do they forget they were this age once? Somehow I think they do. Please remember the label anti-social teenagers' has only been around a while.

Some middle-aged people have never grown out of their bad behaviour; they just think they are too old to be blamed in this anti-teenage world.
