A man racially abused and tried to intimidate two women at a coffee shop in Bury.
The two Asian women, aged 30 and 35, were approaching Costa Coffee on Princess Parade at about 12.10pm on Thursday September 1.
The offender, passing by, pushed the pair out of the way and hurled racial abuse at them. He then walked away.
A few minutes later, while the victims were inside having coffee, the offender reappeared and continued with his abuse.
He then picked up the charity collection jar at the till and smashed this on the floor close to the victims. Shards from the broken glass caught one of the victims on the foot.
The offender then left.
He is white, in his late teens to early 20s, of slim build and very closely shaved blonde hair. He had big ears and was wearing a green Adidas jacket without a hood.
Inspector Charlotte Cadden said: "We have carried out a number of inquiries since this incident and now we are asking the public to help us.
"I am sure that this incident will alarm and anger many members of our communities, but I want to make it clear that in Bury incidents like this are rare.
"Racism and hate crime is not tolerated in Greater Manchester and all reports are taken very seriously.
"Anyone who may have witnessed this or can help this inquiry is urged to contact us."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8154 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
