I AM wondering if it is the intention of the powers-that-be to kill off the enjoyable pastimes of day and evening classes.
After attending a flower arranging class for the past three years, I telephoned to enrol for the autumn/ winter term and was shocked to be told that the fee for 10 weeks would be £60. Last year, the same session was £35!
I was told that the concession for over 60s had been discontinued and I would have to pay the full fee. This is just for the 10 weeks until Christmas, when a similar payment will be due for the next session.
I am sure there will be a lot of people who enjoyed a few hours of educational and sociable activities who will no longer be willing to pay this vase increase in fees.
