COULD I through your pages thank everyone involved in arranging the Last Night of the Proms evening at Christ Church Walmersley last Saturday night.
The whole evening was an absolute joy; a mixture of talent, culture, good humour and patriotism brought about through the musical ability of organist Peter Stevens and Top Trumps Events Band, as well as the wonderful soprano voice of Kay Johnson combined with the flamboyance of the Master of Ceremonies John Clegg.
Could I also acknowledge how indebted we are to those many hundreds, if not thousands, of people in this borough who give their time so freely for the benefit of others.
COUNCILLOR DOROTHY GUNTHER, North Manor Ward
