Tenants and community groups are invited to tomorrow’s official opening of Six Town Housing’s new HQ.
The office at Knowsley Place, opposite Bury Town Hall and the transport interchange, gives residents a town centre headquarters for all their enquiries.
Six Town Housing is the arm’s-length management company responsible for running the day-to-day affairs of the council’s 8,000 houses.
Friday’s event takes place from noon to 2pm. At 12.30pm, the ribbon will be cut by Hugh Broadbent, chair of the STH board; Jim Wood, vice-chair; and Councillor John Smith, deputy leader of Bury Council and former board chair. Visitors can then enjoy a celebratory drink and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the new offices.
Hugh Broadbent said: “This is a great new building which I’m sure tenants will really value. All of our services can be accessed here, and we have excellent interview rooms and a children’s play area.
“I hope that tenants and community groups will come along to the official opening on Friday and have a look around. We will make them very welcome.”
The building is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Its full postal address is: Six Town Housing, 6 Knowsley Place, Angouleme Way, Bury BL9 0EL. Six Town can be contacted on 0161 686 8000 or via the website at www.sixtownhousing.org
