A REWARD is being offered to help track down burglars who stole valuable jewellery and thousands of pounds in cash.

The gang of four broke into a three-bedroomed terraced house in Sefton Street, Bury, at around 2.15pm on Monday.

They gained entry through a back window and stole gold jewellery worth around £15,000, and up to £8,000 in cash.

The couple, who are in their late 50s and in poor health, were saving up for their grandchildren and a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Saudi for the Holy Pilgrimage.

Their son Imran Younis, aged 32, also of Sefton Street, is offering £1,000 for information leading to the conviction of the offenders.

He said there was another burglary in the same street earlier that day when an Apple iPad was stolen.

One man, described as being slim, smartly dressed, around 5ft 11in tall, and possibly of Polish origin, was seen at the front of his parents’ house around 1pm. An Asian man was seen in the driver’s seat of a new black Audi.

Call police on 0161 872 5050 with any information.
