THE Summerseat Players have swept the board at this year’s Greater Manchester Drama Federation One Act Play festival.
The company won five awards, with their youth section’s production of OMG winning all three of the Under 14s categories.
James Williams won the Brenda Gillatt Trophy for his performance as George in the play, while Harriet Dawson received the certificate of merit.
The play also won the Andrew Winton Trophy for best production, before writer Paul Bracewell went on to receive the Playwright’s Trophy for the best original play.
In the adult section, the company’s production of The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish received the certificate of merit.
The awards took place at the Theatre Royal, in Ramsbottom. They will be followed next month by the full-length play awards.
Peter Cheetham, from Tottington Amateur Dramatic Society, is in the running for a best actor award at the awards for his role as Gordon “Brooksie” Brooks in You’re Only Young Twice.
Whitefield Garrick have received six nominations for the full-length play awards, Whitefield AODS seven nominations and PADOS 11 nominations.
The winners will be announced at a glitzy ceremony held at the Longfield Suite in Prestwich, on July 2.
