I am replying to Cllr Roy Walker’s letter. Why do you feel the need to attack people who want to get Whitehead Park opened for children?
I never, as you put it, attacked the residents who lie facing the park. I also never said people in Church Ward were pathetic with little lives! I feel very hurt that you are being so very nasty. I have lived in Church Ward all my life and I am proud of that.
All I want is for the park to be opened for our children to play on instead of walking past it every night looking at it being so close to finishing. I have since spoken to the council and there is going to be a public meeting. I live next to the park and walk my dog at different times of the day and have never seen any badly behaved children, teenagers or adults on there.
Everyone is very polite, happy and playing in what is still a building site.
I think you should be ashamed of your self Mr Walker as a councillor for Church ward, attacking people who only want somewhere for children to play.
So people of Church ward let’s hope we soon get this park open very soon so we can see our children’s faces when they finally get to play on the new equipment.
Church Ward resident
