A MAIN road in Bury is expected to be closed off for a week after a sewer collapse.
Diversions are in place after a dip in the carriageway appeared on Hollins Brow, near to the mini-roundabout at Croft Lane, on Friday.
The road between Manchester Road at Blackford Bridge and Croft Lane has been closed off for repairs being undertaken by United Utilities (UU). A spokeswoman for UU said: “We are now digging down to begin repairs. It has taken a little longer to dig down due to the depth of the sewer — five metres. It is encased in concrete so will take some accessing.”
