I was surprised by the article regarding the 43 per cent increase in parking fees for staff, because I work in Salford for the NHS and as I am sure most of you know Hope Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in the North West under going a large scale expansion.
The staff there have to pay for parking and depending on their banding around £10 for a band 2/3, and that is for a 24-hour multi-storey car park.
It would be interesting to know how they came up with the figure of the increase and it might be an idea to copy Hope and introduce a banding scheme for staff.
I am sure senior management would like to pay more for their parking in this time of financial difficulties.
