AN important planning “blueprint” is to come under the microscope again.
Bury Council is looking to launch another period of consultation involving its Core Strategy to identify how much development should take place in the borough over the next 15 years. Earlier this month, Bury Town Hall was the venue for a Bury Council Local Development Framework hearing which involved examination of its Core Strategy submission document.
The inspector presiding was Stephen J Pratt, appointed by the Secretary of State.
In a statement, the council said: “As a result of previous consultation, the council proposed to make a number of changes to its Core Strategy to address concerns. However, at a hearing into the strategy, the council asked to withdraw the strategy and prepare a revised version. This will then be republished giving further opportunities for people to get involved in shaping the future development of the borough.”
