SUPPORTING the campaign for a new Bury Hospice has been made easier thanks to a new text donation service.
The charity is taking advantage of JustTextGiving, a free text donation service launched last week by Vodafone and Just Giving.
It allows people to make instant donations to the hospice and other charities at the touch of a button.
There is no network charge for making a donation and the hospice can claim back Gift Aid from the Inland Revenue for anyone who is a UK taxpayer, raising an extra 25p for every £1.
The appeal will receive 100 per cent of the donation.
Claire Warner, the hospice’s director of fundraising, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Bury Hospice to reach out to the next generation of fundraisers. We have all seen how successful text donation is for Comic Relief and Children in Need — now let’s make it a success in our campaign to build a new hospice in Bury.
“Around 85 per cent of the adult population own a mobile phone, so the potential for people to make an instant donation is at their fingertips.
“Please support us and text generously. Every pound helps us to take a step in the right direction towards building a new hospice.”
To support the hospice, text Bury02, leave a space and then enter the amount you would like to give.
Donations can be £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 and the amount will be added to the monthly phone bill.
The message should be sent to 70070.
