THE vital contribution made by carers to their families and communities is to be celebrated during National Carers Week from June 13 to June 19.
Bury Adult Care Services and Bury Carers Centre have teamed up to deliver a series of events.
This year, the theme is “The True Face of Carers” and calls upon carers to tell service providers about the reality of caring.
Staff need to know what can really make a difference to the lives of carers and sweep away the myths about caring.
Events taking place in Bury during Carers Week include: l Information stands at Radcliffe Primary Care Centre, Tesco supermarket in Bury, Morrison’s supermarket in Whitefield throughout the week; and also at the new Adult Care Connect and Direct centre at Textile Hall in Manchester Road, Bury, on Tuesday, June 14.
l Bury Carers Centre, in Victoria Buildings, Silver Street, Bury, is hosting events from June 13 to-17: A Pamper Day (June 13), My Sensibility (June 14), a day trip to Skipton Market (June 15), Male Carers Health Awareness Day (June 16) and a drop-in day (June 17).
