A DRIVER escaped without injury after the bus he was driving burst into flames.
Firefighters from Bury and Broughton tackled the blaze of the single decker FirstGroup bus, which was not in service, on Manchester Road, Redvales, Bury for around 40 minutes from 6.05pm on Monday.
Alan Topping, watch commander at Bury Fire Station, said: “The fire had taken hold of around a third of the bus. The fire started in the engine. The cause is still under investigation.”
The driver of the bus, a man, was uninjured and got a bus back to his depot.
