SCORES of youngsters enjoyed a game of football and a computer challenge at a relaunched youth club in Bury.
The B:easties Junior Youth Club used to meet at Topping Fold Community Centre and has relocated to East Ward Primary School.
A total of 105 children, aged from five to 16, along with 30 parents, attended the first session at the new venue last Friday and everyone is invited to join the fun at the same place from 6pm tomorrow.
PCSO Andy Bigland, who helps organise the club, said: “It was an amazing turnout.
“We were playing football with them and they had access to table tennis, a pool table and computer games. There was something for everybody.
“The feedback we’ve had from residents over the weekend has been great. They like the fact that children are doing something positive on a Friday night.”
He added: “We began with the Topping Fold chill-out club and had 50 kids there so it outgrew the centre. It made sense to move so we didn’t have to turn kids away. I would like to thank PCSO Kim Rafferty, PC Alison Byrne and PC Jane Watson for their help with this. We can’t do it without them.”
