AN award-winning Bury nursery has received another outstanding report from the Government’s education watchdog.
Little Holcombe Nursery, in Brandlesholme Road, was praised for its extra curricular physical activities by Ofsted inspectors.
The nursery, which was awarded NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association) Nursery of the Year last year, was inspected in February.
It was deemed to be outstanding in all areas. Inspectors said: “Staff are fully committed to providing high quality care, which very actively promotes the children’s knowledge and understanding of safety and healthy lifestyles.”
The report also said: “Children are extremely well cared for in a highly stimulating and child-centred environment. The exciting and inviting environment is fully inclusive and reflects the children’s backgrounds, communities and family lifestyles.
“Exceptional organisation of the educational programmes, which reflect rich varied and stimulating experiences, meet the needs of the children exceedingly well. The system for evaluating the quality of the provision is outstanding and effective, with very challenging plans in place for the future.”
Ofsted inspectors had previously given “outstanding” reports to Little Holcombe in November, 2007, and Tower View Nursery, at Old Hall Primary School, Springside Vi-ew, Bury, in October, 2010. Both nurseries are part of the Butterworth Family Childcare and Education Team. Little Holcombe has 22 staff and 97 children, up to five years old.
