TEENAGERS from the Dumers Lane estate will tackle the "boys in blue" in a charity football match on Saturday.
The police decided to set up the game, at Goshen in Bury, to interact with the youngsters on (literally) a level playing field.
Inspector Steve Clark said: "The idea came from Dumers Lane Tenants and Residents Association who thought it would be great if we could get the youngsters to burn off some of that excess energy in a charity football match.."
FAM Engineering of Radcliffe has donated a football strip to the teenagers and there are plans to enter their football team in a local league.
A post-match raffle will raise funds for projects on the estate and for Bury Hospice. Prizes have been donated by Manchester City, Bury Football Club and FC United of Manchester, and by local businesses.
