THREE local men have been arrested by detectives investigating a drive-by shooting.

Police arrested a 19-year-old and two 22-year-olds, all from Bury, after two men were hit when a gunman opened fire at them in Mayor Street, Bolton, last Wednesday. The victims suffered arm, leg and stomach injuries.

The three Bury men were interviewed over the weekend and released on bail until September 19.

Two other men have since appeared before magistrates in Bolton charged in connection with the shooting. Mohammed Taymure Khan (23) of Hilden Street, Bolton, and Tanveer Akbar (26) of Castle Street, Bolton, have been charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding. Both were remanded in custody until November 3.
