MUMS and dads in Bury, like me, will have seen the terrible news confirming the closure of Fairfield's maternity ward.
David Nuttall said it would be saved within 24 hours of a Tory government. He repeatedly pledged, publicly, to save Fairfield maternity, whilst seeking election last May, and has now failed to honour this.
As with his government, this is one more broken promise from our misguided Member of Parliament.
There is enormous disappointment in our community at Mr Nuttall’s failure to be trusted on such an important issue and protect the jobs of the staff providing this excellent service.
My wife and I are expecting our second child in August and can speak personally about our opposition to this decision. We are calling for Mr Nuttall to come to his senses, stick to his word, and keep his promise.
