A HUSBAND has been jailed for life after he admitted murdering his estranged wife.
Brian Oliver, aged 40, of Duke Street, Radcliffe, will have to serve a minimum of 19 years behind bars before he can be freed, a judge at Manchester Crown Court said.
Oliver admitted the murder of 32-year-old Joanne Oliver two days into his trial. The trial, which started on Tuesday, heard how Oliver met up with his wife in Heaton Park, Prestwich, one Friday morning last September.
They had been living apart and Oliver wanted to quiz her over whether she had started a new relationship. He then launched a brutal attack on Mrs Oliver, and stabbed her 15 times before fleeing.
He originally denied murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
