AS the organiser of the annual Joe Geeling Charity Dog Walk, I would like to thank all those who took part in last year’s event.
With sponsorship monies and donations still coming in, the 2010 walk has now raised an impressive £1,750.
I know Joe’s parents, Tom and Gwen, are delighted with the response and the financial support the walk provides to the Joe Geeling Trust which in turn supports the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
My heartfelt thanks also go to Vets4Pets which once again provided the invaluable sponsorship upon which this event relies. I’m also indebted to the Brown Cow pub at the Burrs Country Park which hosted hungry and thirsty walkers and their pets and helped our fundraising efforts.
Successive walks have now raised nearly £10,000 for the Joe Geeling Trust and with the support of ever generous Bury folk we look forward to smashing through that barrier this year. I will be organising the sixth annual walk for this autumn but, in the meantime, if people would like to make a donation, they can either contact me on 0161 761 2057 or visit thejoegeelingtrust.co.uk Gordon Salmon M.I.A.C.E.
