HAVE the emergency service sirens got more frequent along Longsight Road? It seems like it to me.
Do they use that stretch as a practice run? They use their sirens at any time of the day - not just rush-hour - including early morning, mid-afternoon and late at night.
Another possibility could be that they use excessive sirens to warn off the culprits before they arrive. Maybe they have been watching too much TV and the urge to imitate is just too much.
Recently I counted three occasions after 6pm on Friday when sirens were used, also three occasions on the Saturday. On the Sunday the sirens and police helicopter were out at 11am, and on Monday night/Tuesday morning, the sirens and helicopter were out at 3am.
The helicopter was circling around Holcombe and Ramsbottom - and they say this is the place to live!
