I see from the planning appeals that Holcombe Brooke Sports Club have lodged an appeal against the refusal of planning permission at Hazel Hall Lane, in conjunction with the planning application for the building of homes on the current tennis club site.
It is important that people don't think, or assume that this has gone away. The appeal has now gone to the planning inspectorate. The inspectorate, has the authority to reverse the decision made by Bury Council, irrespective of the feelings of local people.
Without representation from people who care about what happens to this green belt land, the tennis club is likely to get its way.
If you care about what is happening, then go to the planning inspectorate website and make your thoughts known.
The closing date for "statements and representations" is August 30.
After this there may not be a chance.
