WHEN the credits roll for the last time at the Vue complex in Pilsworth, staff past and present are being invited to a “film” party.
To celebrate 21 years in operation, Vue will be holding a prom for past and present employees.
Sharon Harris, general manager at Vue Pilsworth, said: “The closing prom is taking place at the Town Hall, which is on the doorstep of the new site, and with the theme being ‘what is old becomes new again’, we have decided to invite all staff that have worked at the cinema since 1989 to come down and join in the fun.
“The closing event will be a prom similar to those attended by school leavers in the USA and will include a mix of music, live entertainment and awards.
“It is our chance to gather Vue Bury staff — both past and present — together to reflect upon the site’s long history and look forward to our future at The Rock.”
Former staff who wish to attend the party on July 6 can e-mail bury@vuemail.com and put “reunion” in the subject box. Tickets are £10 and all profits raised will be donated to Bury Hospice.
* Vue is also searching for anyone who may have one of the original tickets to the first showing held at the Pilsworth cinema in June 1989.
