A WHITEFIELD man put out his tongue out at a policeman and made an aggressive finger gesture, a court heard.
On being arrested, Gareth Hurst spat in another officer’s face, said prosecutor Richard Blackburn at Manchester magistrates court.
When he was searched in the city centre, he was found to have a quantity of crack cocaine and heroin, the bench was told.
Hurst, aged 24, of Glendevon Place, admitted charges of threatening behaviour, police assault and drug possession. He was bailed until April 17 for sentence.
The court heard that Hurst said he put out his tongue for a joke and spat because the police had manhandled him.
Peter Brown, defending, said: “He had not used illegal drugs for 18 months but earlier that day had bought crack cocaine and heroin.”
