Well done Bury Times. Last month my wife and I had reason to attend the outpatients department.
We arrived, parked the car and as we walked towards the entrance and the steps from the road we were met by litter, cigarette ends, drink cartons, fast food cartons, and even vomit.
At the main entrance beneath a notice saying THIS IS A NON- SMOKING SITE, patients and visitors were smoking and stubbing out cigarettes .
The whole area was to say the least quite disgusting .
We were shocked and disappointed at obvious disregard for hygiene and cleanliness.
Too often these days we tend to turn away thinking we can not do anything about it.
On this occasion I rang the Bury Times.
We returned this week to the hospital and found all had been swept and cleaned and was a credit to the action taken by the Bury Times.
Well done and thank you.
