I really enjoyed reading Mr Derek Brooks’s advert for his hero, David Cameron.
I particularly liked the fact that he mentioned he was from a council estate, with a postman father and factory-working mother. Mr Brooks must be a little older than me then; it seems that when he was growing up in his council estate, his parents had jobs. Like me, it mustn’t have been during the 1980s – under a Tory government.
I’ve seen enough from our true-blue chums throughout history to make sure I never do that. I’d rather spoil my ballot paper first! I grew up under Thatcher, matured under Major. And, I’ll not forget about it.
If Labour’s annoying you, why not try Liberal Democrat? Anybody, but the other lot. If you have a problem with your public money being spent on second homes for Labour MPs, then wait until this lot get in.
And for those of us brought up on council estates: there’s a term used in many Tory Party circles for people like us: Oiks.
