MUSICIANS have united to record a CD in memory of Bury girl Ruby Stinson.
And 10 acts performed sets at the town’s Rose and Crown pub to officially launch a 21-track compilation CD featuring the cream of local musical talent.
Proceeds from the record will go Derian House children’s hospice in Chorley where five-year-old Ruby died last April after losing her battle with a brain tumour.
Among those featured on the CD is Ruby’s father, Rex, himself an accomplished musician.
The CD is entitled To The Moon And Back, in memory of Ruby who used to say: “I love you to the moon and back.”
Rex, aged 43, of Cardigan Drive, was delighted at the response to the launch held at the popular Manchester Old Road pub.
“It was absolutely packed and we raised more than £500 on the night, thanks to CD sales and a raffle,” he said. “Ten artists performed on the night.”
The majority of bands featured on the CD are from Bury, Bolton and North Manchester. Rex contributed to four of the tracks.
